Snowy White & Peter Green - Slabo Day

Peter Green's classic "Slabo Day" with Snowy White playing the lead. A beautiful rendition of Peter Green's masterpiece. Snowy has often spoke of Peter as one of his largest influences; this influence is clearly demonstrated in Snowy's guitar playing. Both artists are among my very favourite; they both play with a kind of slow preciseness. The space between their notes do not appear accidentally, every note seems to be held for just the right amount of time, and every succeeding note seems to be struck at just the right point in time. Such a phenomenon is hard to explain; if you don't understand what I mean, or if you don't believe me, just go listen to Peter Green's "Apostle", "A Fool No More", "Albatross", or Snowy's "Midnight Blues", "Little Wing (Live)", or "The TIme Has Come".

Slabo Day - Peter Green

Peter Green (born Peter Allen Greenbaum, 29 October 1946, in Bethnal Green, London) is a British blues-rock guitarist and founder of the band Fleetwood Mac.

A figurehead in the British blues movement, Green inspired B. B. King to say, "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats." Green's playing was marked with a distinctive vibrato and economy of style. Though he played other guitars, he is best known for deriving a unique tone from his 1959 Gibson Les Paul. A result of the magnet of his guitar's neck pickup being accidentally reversed to produce an 'out of phase' sound.
